about me.

I was born and raised in New Zealand, having spent many years travelling and racing all over the world I have recently settled in Melbourne, Australia. I am currently involved  in ongoing work with the Nike, Tempo Journal as well as a number of community based initiatives and programs, help runners of all abilities achieve their goals.

I like to think I see running through a slightly different lens, one of growth, development and mindfulness. I would describe running as so much more than an a form of physical exercise, something that isn’t easily explained or fully realised by those that don’t partake. Yes, at its core it exists as a way to stay fit and in some cases earn a living; but for the initiated it provides stability, routine and purpose. Coaching someone involves much more than simply helping them run fast, it places me at their side through the thick & thin and all the ups & downs. I get to watch them grow and develop both physically and mentally, guiding and teaching athletes the seemingly endless positives of such a rudimentary act.

I began my running journey at the age of seven through club athletic programs and high school tournaments. Early on I focused on cross-country and 3km road racing; but soon graduated to the track, tackling 1,500 and 3,000 metre events. As my career progressed and gained momentum, I moved into 5 and 10km road races before moving to the half-marathon distance at age 19 (77 minutes) and marathon distance at 25 (2 hours 39 minutes). I have held national titles in the 5,000 meters, 10,000 meters and the half-marathon and have had the honour of representing New Zealand in Cross Country, Half-Marathon and Marathon distance events.

Below are my current personal best times…

3,000m - 9.06
5,000m - 15.42
10,000m - 33.22
Half-Marathon - 72.44
Marathon - 2.38.30
